Having problems login to wwk website on my computer. When i log into website on my computer it doesnt work. On the bottom where it says who is loged in...Awakend is not logged in. When i recheck bottom after i log in it shows that i am loged into website but on my computer is doesnt say Welcome Awakend. Instead it still asks me to login.
I made a new account Sarah. Same thing happens. Sarah is on bottom as logged in after i put in password....But on computer it still asks me to login.
This also happens on [DarK] website.
Is there something i need to adjust on my computer to make this work. I just got my computer back and the memory is gone. It's like a new computer. Is there some settings i need to play with? Toshiba replaced the memory board. Toshiba also removed my upgraded ram chip. I have the chip but i need to take computer to bestbuy to have geeksquad install it.
Please help TMO thanks Awa[k]enD

That problem is a strange one. I dont really know what type of settings they would tamper with since by default installation everything should work. I would try to reboot and then relog on to see if its just something glitching that windows can automatically fix on next boot up.
As far as your memory goes it is a real simple procedure to remove the cover on the bottom of your laptop. You dont remove the entire cover, its a small cover that is usually a little bigger than two of the memory chips. Once you remove the cover you simply look at the slot on the memory chip and look at the slot on the memory chip slot and make sure they are aligned. You can reference the memory chip that is already installed, it will be the same. You will install in about a 30 to 40 degree angle and once its seated you will lay it flat until it snaps into place. Place your memory cover back on and boot up. It will autodetect the new memory and you may be prompted to save or accept the changes and then your done.
Real simple and a lot cheaper than geek squad. If you want, you can give me the model information of your laptop and I will get you a detailed picture of how to do it if this isnt clear. You will be amazed at how simple it is once you do it.

Hey TMO,
I think the problem was a Direct X or something setting. I was looking for a patch in gamespy and it ask me to activate something. It was a security warning from windows i think. Anyway i said allow or activate and now I can log into website again.
My upgraded physical memory chip was the part that was defective. Thats why Toshiba put the factory chip in computer. So my available physical memory is 456mb. After software i installed 180mb is left. With upgraded chip I use to have 896mb. Soon i will have to go to Best Buy to have them give me another chip.
Can my computer survive without spy sweeper. The problem is with all my software needed to run my hardware I dont have much physical memory to spare.

Replace spysweeper with Adaware SE. Im pretty sure Adaware SE uses less resources. If theres programs that are starting at bootup you can go to start/run and type msconfig and hit enter. At that point you can go to the startup tab and uncheck any programs that you know for sure you dont need. This will free up some ram due to the fact that these processes are running in the background when you dont need them.
After you reboot you may see a window that tells you that you changed the boot settings and all you have to do is accept. If you have undesireable things happening after you do this then you can go back and recheck them, or at least the ones you are unsure of.
Try the msconfig before you uninstall spysweeper.

Why exactly do i need spyware on my computer? When my father bought the computer last summer. Best Buy said I needed this software for my computer. For some reason TMO Spysweeper is a slow running program. When I had 896mb of available ram my computer would start up slow with spysweeper installed. I understand about the start up. I use it alot. Anyway TMO i have uninstalled spysweeper already because of the hardware needed to run my labtop and internet is useing up to much ram with spysweeper. I will have to try out Adaware SE So why exactly do i need spyware? Awa[k]enD

Spyware is a method that companies or individuals set up on thier websites or in thier programs that can tell them information about you such as:
Sites you shop Keystrokes you make on certain sites (also called phishing) Information about you and your computer
And many other things you dont want to share. A spyware and Adware program, such as Adaware SE is used to detect these files and programs and disable & remove them to keep this from happening. Unfortunately it is necessary to have on your pc if you frequently use the internet.
Hopefully this makes better sense to you now.

Thanks TMO, When I ask Geek Squad they tell me, "your computer needs this program to protect you on the internet." Thanks for the information. Now I know why the program protects my computer.
