If you have 1gig or more of memory and are running windows XP you may want to check this registry setting and see if its set correctly to improve your PC performance. I checked mine and it was already set correctly but you never know for sure until you check...
Do this...
1.) Go to "Start-->Run" and in the prompt, enter "regedit". Hit Enter. 2.) Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTECurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" 3.) In the list of DWORDS on the right, you should see one called "DisablePagingExecutive". 4.) Right-click on the value and go to "Modify". 5.) In the "Value" box, change the 0 to a 1 to disable system paging. 6.) Hit okay and restart the computer for the changes to take effect.
This tip works on Windows NT/2000/XP. If you don't notice a performance increase, you can just change this back to default by doing all of the above steps and switching the value back to 0.
!!!Warning!!! For those of you that don't know, changing the wrong settings in your registry can be a total disaster and cause your pc to not run or run incorrectly so only change what I have posted here unless you know exactly what you are doing.
I'll post the next useable tip the next time I run across one.

This may help. It's something that could make a little difference. You may or may not notice much of a difference, to be honest I can't be a good reference of the difference since mine was already set to value of 1 so I don't know what the performance of 0 would be. But sometimes the smallest tweaks add up and makes a big difference overall.
As for testing your PC I have the perfect free benchmark for your PC. I will list it in new thread so it will be easy for everyone to find...
