New Hardware stats: AMD AM2 X2 6000* CPU (3187Mhz) Gigabyte M55SLI-S4 Motherboard 2048MB Patriot Gaming DDR2 Memory EVGA E Gforce 8800 GTX ANS3 768MB Video card (smoking fast ) ANTEC Trio 650 SLI Power Supply I am going to get another identical video card in a couple of weeks or so to set up SLI mode. I ran 3dMark06 on this system and got 4 times the score that I was getting on my old faithful system. I used to get 2200 points max but on this new setup I got nearly 9000. Once I set up the SLI and add another 1G of memory I will be around 12000. This setup plays Oblivion on Ultra High Quality mode with no problems and the graphics are unbelievable. I have never played on a system with so much freakin power. See you guys on soon. TMO

Yes, the power is definitely there. I realized that most of the 10% that runs faster than my system is at least twice the cost or a lot more. Some of those guys use liquid nitrogen and have 1000's of dollars and only use thier systems to get record breaking clock speeds and thats it. Check out this link. Kingpin holds the fastest record for now, again... overclockingpin.com/TMO

Needless to say guys I took back my 8800GTS video card... and got the 8800GTX 768MB KO ACS3. I figured that if I am going to spend enough money on a second card that is second best, I could take that difference and put it with what I have already paid and step up to the best card. This move left me with still another upgrade option to go SLI with these monster cards. Can you believe this card takes 2 PCI express power dongles? It will take two more for the other identical card and also a molex power cord plugged into the motherboard. I think I will have to take out my 650 watt and go for at least 800 or maybe even 1000 watt when I add the second card. I found that when you go SLI you really need to use SLI capable memory. The way the frequency is adjusted to work based on how fast your CPU is, using 800mhz memory, like I am, you may only be operating at 733 mhz. SLI memory adjusts the memory frequency to always run at 800mhz. Those 3 things will be my next move a few months down the road. This video card set me back 750.00 plus tax. That was with the 99.99 in store warranty that lets me take the card back to the store I bought it from and get an instant replacement for the next 3 years. It was worth it. My 3d mark 06 score went from 9000 to almost 11000 just changing cards from the GTS to the GTX. I got the fastest 8800GTX offered. Now lets see if I can get the internet to co-operate again... TMO

Also guys, look at the title of this post. We keep crossing up postings on this site and it makes a total mess of things. Help me to help you to keep this forum in better shape please. If your response in not in relation to what the original header is about, create a new post. I promise most of, if not all of you have the ability and the freedom to create a new post and talk solely about your topic alone. Really, I'm not kidding... TMO

Ok very nice Shorty. Glad to see you got it up and going now you can enjoy the power... The best benchmarking program to me is 3dmark06. Theres a free version and a version that costs 20 bucks. The free one is limited a little bit and is sufficient to find out where you are compared to everyone else. After you have finished your benchmark tests it will send you to the website for a comparision list of how you scored and how you compare to machines similar to yours. Also it will let you see how you compare to every system that has ever used 3dmark06 and it gives you an actual number of how many systems you are faster than and how many are faster than you. I think I had beaten something like over 3,000,000 and 56,000 was faster than me. You can also do a direct comparrison to a certain pc that is in your range by selecting the small icon to the far right of thier results. Its very good graphics you will see on this program during the benchmarking but you will hear no sound. This is the link to download: www.futuremark.com/products/TMO

Also Shorty you can go to this site and do a direct comparrison of each of your hardware items such as the CPU, Video card, hard drive and network hardware. Select the CPU you have and compare it to anything else you want. Mine is the AMD X2 6000+. Look for that chip and select yours and then select the next tab down for the type of program you want to compare it running. I usually do the 3dmark06 CPU test. Heres the link: CPU chart: www23.tomshardware.com/cpu.htmlVideo Card: www23.tomshardware.com/graphics.htmlI believe your CPU is the E6400 2.13, right? Very nice chip. It will do you well for a long time to come. TMO
